Flaneur Bedding at Ellen Pompeo's Sag Harbor Home
Today Flaneur bedding was in the feature story with Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey in Grey's Anatomy) and Hancock Design on Architectural Digest - "Ellen Pompeo's Sag Harbor Home is a Modern Take on a Classic Barn".
Ellen's Hampton vacation home was bought eight years ago but only got renovated recently after encountering with Estee Stanley and Brigette Romanek from Hancock Design. This is the smallest but the most special vacation home for Ellen, who is herself very enthusiastic with interior design and actively participated the whole design project.
The output of those three great women designers is a modern take of a classic barn. As Ellen put it, this is "completely different” from any other property she owns. She said, “this was the first modern barn I have done. I have two Mediterranean homes, and I have two modern homes as well, and I have just finished my Malibu house, which is midcentury. They are like completely different paintings to me.”
Let's take a look at how special the master bedroom is for this modern barn with custom dyed Flaneur bedding -
The bedding colors Ellen picked for her master bedroom from Flaneur are Robin's Egg Blue, Botanical Garden and Forged Iron.
"The master bedroom is not offset and private, so we wanted to make it a cozy space. But you can only have a few pieces in there, so every piece had to be important," says designer Estee Stanley. "So what brings it home? The bedding. We brought in the greens, which reminded us of the outside, and complemented the black and the gray." Hancock Designs opted for Flaneur bedding and made the bed custom.
As Ellen "was looking to do something modern and hip and young”, this home is "decorated in a way that’s a fresh look compared to those Hamptons places that all look like they’re owned by 60-year-old Hamptons billionaires, with the shingles and the light columns".
We're very excited that Flaneur bedding can contribute to this new way to look at the luxury vacation homes. It's time we change the sheets!
